The U.S. Educational System Sucks:

My children are all grown but I have grandchildren.
It frustrates me to know end to see young children burdened with one to two hours of homework.
If these idiot teachers cannot teach the child what they need to know in the 45 to 60 minutes they have them everyday, then get new teachers!
The system is broken, archaic and outdated.
This is why children hate school and rebel against learning.
Children, like adults need a brake to unwind.
If a child cannot get playtime they become agitated and out of control. Then next thing the school system wants to do is send them for counseling and drug them.

Teachers are always complaining they don't get paid enough, and I agree. Maybe if we paid them more we could get good teachers because the vast majority are useless!

What makes the system even worse is the damn teachers unions. When you get a bad teacher you can't get rid of them unless they sleep with a student.

If you don't agree with this I'd like to know why. But ask yourself first why is home schooling on the rose?

Your comments pro or con are welcomed and appreciated.

I agree. I have a 17 year old daughter in the 11th grade, and she is not happy with school at all. Everything is put under a microscope and analized by a bunch of liberals. No more recess like we use to have. Security cameras everywhere, thefts in school, drugs and gangs. I'll be glad when she graduates. The system as you say is broken.

Unions had a time and place. Now, you have true ways to enforce fairness with pay.

Drop the unions and let the teachers teach. The biggest problem we have had, and what they complain about, is the government dictating to them...

...imagine that. Uncle Sam screwing us up... Geez.

I have homeschooled for 15 years- I am in total agreement with you.

I think that the public school is just another cash cow for the democrats. I am appalled at how much per student is spent each year. I have not spent that in 15 years on all the children's curricula(4 children).

With vacations to various places to study hands on I think that we have only totaled five thousand dollars. You see it is not the money but the basics first and then a plan to teach the child to understand how to learn. Oh and not using revisionist history but the honest truth about our God fearing founding fathers.

Keep on writing.
